This is an Optional Plan providing a tax-free lump sum benefit that can be offered to employees to purchase on their own or an employer can elect to provide it to everyone. Having survived a critical illness, many are unable to swiftly return to work and are in need of special care. Coverage is now available to provide financial assistance for such expenses. Critical Illness was developed to alleviate some of the stress and financial burden resulting from any of the following critical illnesses: Heart Attack, Stroke, Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery, Paralysis, Multiple Sclerosis, Cancer, Blindness, Major Organ Failure, Alzheimer’s Disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Aorta Surgery, Benign Brain Tumour, Coma, Deafness, Parkinson’s Disease, Severe burns, Ductal Carcinoma in situ (DCIS), Loss of independence.
